VX Converter ("we", "the app") is an Android app that converts videos, audio, images, PDFs and documents from one format to another. This policy explains what data the app accesses and how it is used. By using VX Converter you agree to this policy.
1. Your files stay on your device
All conversions run entirely on your device and work offline. The files you convert are never uploaded, transmitted, or shared with us or any third party.
- The app reads only the files you choose with Android's system file picker (or files you share to the app). It does not scan your storage.
- Converted files are saved to Download/VX Converter or a folder you choose, or kept in app storage if automatic saving is off.
- Your original files are never modified or deleted.
- Photo metadata such as location is not copied into converted images.
- Temporary copies made while picking or sharing files can be removed in Settings → Clear temporary files.
2. Conversion history
The app keeps a history of your conversions (file names, sizes, formats, settings and output locations) only on your device. File contents are never stored in it. You can clear it at any time in History → Clear history.
3. Permissions we request
- Notifications — to show conversion progress while the app is in the background.
- Foreground service — to keep a conversion you started running when you leave the app.
- Storage (Android 12 and older only) — to read the files you pick and, on Android 9 and older, to save converted files to Downloads.
- Internet — only for the Google services listed below. Your files are never sent over the network.
4. Data collected by third-party services
The app uses the following Google services, which may collect data as described in their own privacy policies:
- Firebase Remote Config — used to switch app features on or off remotely. It may process an app instance identifier.
- Google AdMob (advertising, if enabled) — may collect your advertising ID, device information and app-usage signals to serve and measure ads. Ads never receive your files.

We do not collect names, email addresses, or accounts. VX Converter has no login.
5. Advertising ID
If ads are shown, AdMob uses your device's advertising ID. You can reset or delete it in Android Settings → Privacy → Ads.
6. Children
VX Converter is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect data from them.
7. Data retention & security
We store no personal data on our own servers. Any data handled by AdMob or Firebase is retained under Google's policies.
8. Changes
We may update this policy. Changes are posted on this page with a new "Last updated" date.
